Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships at the Council are real jobs, you get paid a real salary and have full rights as an employee. As an employer of choice, we are looking for ambitious, hard-working, dedicated people who want to make a difference to our area and its community.
You will study for an apprenticeship standard up to degree level, opportunities may exist in business administration, finance, environmental health, IT or HR. Your pathway to a successful career will be supported through the skills and experience you gain with support being provided by the training provider and line manager.
Apprenticeships are for people aged 16 or over and combine practical training with study in your current job role and include 80 per cent on-the-job training and 20 per cent commitment to off-the-job training or academic learning.
The programmes can last between 1 to 4 years dependant on the qualification being achieved, alongside this you can be supported to achieve membership status with professional bodies.
