Customer Contact Apprentice
Norwich City Council employs 650 people who have chosen to work in local government because they care about our fine city and our residents.
Our apprenticeship programme offers a great route into a professional career in local government customer service and administration. You’ll be working as a member our customer contact or customer support teams, depending upon your experience.
No two days are the same, so we are looking for someone who is flexible and able to work to tight deadlines and ensure that you can get jobs done as part of a team, but also working independently.
Responsibilities
Leading digital
- Be central to our digital first approach. Learn to provide customers with advice and support to enable them to access our services online.
Teamwork and continuous improvement
We will help you develop your skills to:
- work as part of a team, providing support to colleagues to contribute to enhanced team performance
- develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- identify and communicate issues to provide continuity of service and consistency of output
- Work collaboratively and support other colleagues (as required) to deliver Team Plans and Corporate Plan.
Performance management
- Fulfil individual targets to contribute to team performance. Deliver the service in accordance with key performance indicators and service standards.

- All employees are eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
- Paid holiday entitlement starts at 26 days per annum and increases with length of service to a maximum of 33 days per annum. This is pro rata for part-time employees
- In addition to the statutory public holidays, we grant an additional statutory day leave at Christmas
